Exciting News

Tonight Justice was sold! It was sad and exciting. I was happy he didn't have to go to meat market. It was sad seeing my favorite goat go, but I know there will be more goats in the spring.

I also made my school musical. I am part of the chorus.

I have a new kid!

Wisdom had a kid. The kid is a boy that I named Justice. He is the color of dark chocolate (no joke), but then again his mom is a sungau.
I found Justice about 11:20 am. I had gone outside to change the water in the 5 gallon bucket that I use for the adult goats. I was surprised that Wisdom wasn't coming over to me because she has been very social to me the past few days. I was curious about where she was so I went to go find her. I knew she liked to hang-out between the hay
bales so I went and looked there. When I got to the hay bales I saw Wisdom and then I saw Justice. He was so cute, and so big for being 2-4 hours old. I went and got the rest of my family and my sister's friend that is over here. When we went back out Justice was nursing and walking around. If you are interested in him you can find him on the farm website, www.rainbowbasin.com

My Goats

I love my 4 goats. They are Mythreindeer, Legend, Wisdom, and Velvet.

Mythreindeer is a buck kid that goes by Myth. He is dark black in color and has correct toggenburg markings. That is a brown face with white stripes coming down the side of his nose, white stockings, and white edging on the ears. Myth is a pig, he drinks almost 20 oz. of milk 3 times each day. Myth is also acrobatic, part of that though is that he is a goat.

Legend is my kid. I got her when she was 6 days old and the people we bought her from had just taken her away from her mom that morning. Well to make a long story short I had to teach that stubborn goat (Legend) to drink a bottle. We didn't have much success until we got Velvet.

Velvet was purchased about a week after Legend. Velvet already freshened this year and so she is giving about a quart of milk a day. Velvet is an Oberhasli ( a kind of goat from the Swiss alps)
